Ohio University

AAMS works closely with Ohio University for as-needed issue-based mediation, as well as mediation and conflict resolution trainings.

Issue-Based Mediation: AAMS works with Ohio University to offer mediation as an option in resolving workplace conflict. When all parties have a vested interest in improving interactions with co-workers, intra-departmental, or inter-departmental, mediation can be an effective solution. Mediation does not replace the normal university grievance procedures, nor other support services that may exist. Mediation is an additional, confidential option that individuals or departments can elect to utilize. Mediations can be scheduled quickly once referrals are made. Names or details of sessions will not be disclosed to anyone

University staff, faculty, and administrators have utilized this service to handle a number of conflicts or received specialized training. Issues have included but are not limited to:

  • Communication needs
  • Sharing resources
  • Discrimination
  • Group dynamics
  • Employee/Supervisor frustrations
  • Interpersonal conflict & Personality clash
  • Difficulties with students
  • And other career/office related issues.

Athens County Municipal Court
